Limb diagnostics
The limbs, or extremities, are accessible to clinical analysis by inspection, palpation and percussion. Clinical tests of the musculoskeletal system are complemented by ultrasound and all other diagnostic tests.
The limbs make movement and complex actions possible and are exposed to traumatic injuries and overuse syndromes, and degenerative and inflammatory changes can also develop over a lifetime. A clinical examination by an experienced physiatrist, with the help of simple tools such as a dynamometer, podoscope, blood pressure monitor, goniometer, tuning fork and tape measure, takes on real significance. Of course, complex laboratory, imaging and electrophysiological tests should be used extensively to find the source of the complaints, and with it the diagnosis, as soon as possible.
