Cyriax therapy
The Cyriax method is a modern orthopaedic manual technique used in the diagnosis and conservative treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. The techniques used in the Cyriax method are manipulation, transverse friction, mobilisation, injection and traction. All these therapies can be combined with other physiotherapy modalities and treatments.
We most often use the Cyriax method for:
– muscle, tendon or ligament injuries (sports injuries – tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, jumper's knee, runner's knee)
– painful conditions of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar and/or sacral spine (disc herniation/protrusion/extrusion, limited mobility)
– periarthritis of the shoulder joint, tendon inflammation, calcium deposits in the shoulder
– loose bodies in the joint
