Stem cell and whole blood injection
All tissues have their own stem cells, from which other cells develop. Stem cells are undifferentiated, which means they can adapt and transform into other types of cell. Their potency depends on stimulation and on the environment they are in. The most commonly used are injections of stem cells from the umbilical cord, bone marrow or blood, but other tissues also have their own stem cells. With their potential, they can regenerate, renew and heal an injury. Treating injuries of musculoskeletal, neural and haematological tissue requires strict medical indications. Autologous use – that is, using the patient's own cells – is the safest option and is relatively readily available.
