Non-invasive cardiac diagnostics

Non-invasive cardiac diagnostics comprises a set of tests that make it possible to assess the structure and function of the heart and to detect disorders that can cause symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, fainting or high blood pressure. Early recognition of heart disease is key to timely treatment and the prevention of complications, and most of the tests are simple, quick and painless.

Basic but extremely important diagnostic methods include blood pressure measurement, the electrocardiogram (ECG), the 24-hour Holter ECG, ABPM (24-hour blood pressure monitoring), heart ultrasound and certain laboratory markers. These tests form the basis of a modern cardiac assessment and give the doctor insight into the electrical activity of the heart, how blood pressure changes during the day and night, and the function of the heart muscle. By combining these methods, it is possible to detect heart rhythm disorders, assess whether there are signs of damage to the heart muscle, find the cause of fatigue, shortness of breath or dizziness, and distinguish whether the symptoms are related to heart disease or to other conditions. The tests are also used to monitor how well treatment is working and to assess risk in patients who already have heart disease.

Cardiac diagnostics is always tailored to the individual patient, taking into account their symptoms, age, risk factors and the results of previous tests. A timely, targeted assessment makes it possible to reach a precise diagnosis and choose the optimal treatment, which improves quality of life and reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events.
