Ankle and foot disorders
The ankle and foot are often exposed to traumatic injuries as well as inflammatory and degenerative diseases. The connection between the foot, ankle and lower leg often requires an extended diagnostic work-up. During the examination, the specialist will analyse the structures of the lower leg, ankle and foot, such as muscles, tendons and ligaments, and may find effusions around tendons and inside joints. Analysis of the structures in the front, side, inner and back segments can reveal a large proportion of pathological changes. All this is done so that appropriate action can be taken – from immobilisation, fixation and taping to injections, aspiration, pain blocks, surgery and other invasive methods, with or without medication.
