Rehabilitacija koljena

Knee rehabilitation

The knee joint and the surrounding structures are a frequent reason for rehabilitation, and because the structures and the pathology are complex and call for thorough knowledge, an examination by a specialist doctor is needed. Besides patellofemoral syndrome, or anterior knee pain syndrome, other structures – in the knee itself or around it, and even distant structures of the hip, pelvis and spine – can produce knee pain. The anterior cruciate ligament is a common site of traumatic injury, but changes in it can also result from spontaneous degenerative changes.

Other important diseases and conditions that are also a frequent reason for rehabilitation and for seeing a specialist doctor include cartilage (chondral) injuries, Baker's cyst, injuries of the medial or lateral collateral ligament, compartment syndrome, hamstring strain, iliotibial band syndrome, osteoarthritis of the knee, bursopathies/bursitis of the knee, meniscal injuries, patellar tendinopathy (jumper's knee), patellofemoral syndrome, peroneal neuropathy, posterior cruciate ligament injuries, quadriceps tendinopathy, tibial periostitis or tibial stress reaction in runners, and total knee replacement – these are just some of the conditions that require rehabilitation.
